Something’s Always Happening

At Career Quest Learning Centers, something is always happening! Our campuses in Jackson and Lansing are vibrant, welcoming and busy – and so are our students. We run several school spirit events that often double as fundraisers for our students in need. Here are just some of the fun activities we’re doing during the month of March:

New Student Orientation: We know starting fresh with something as important as your education can be a little scary. That’s why we made certain to give a warm welcome during our student orientations, held this month on March 5th in Lansing and March 6th in Jackson. New students got to meet some veteran students, faculty and staff, while they enjoyed refreshments and checked out the campuses.

Walking Taco:  If you’ve never experienced this tasty treat, you’re missing out! On March 4th and 5th, Lansing students and faculty purchased bags of Fritos and Doritos and then lined up at serving stations that offered chili and other appropriate taco toppings. They filled up their bags, closed them tightly and then gave them a shake to create instant and fully delicious portable tacos.

Baked Potato Sale: If tacos aren’t to your taste, we also set up stations this month for baked potatoes with all the fixins. Students and faculty got to top their potato creations with a hot and cool assortment of yummy add-ons.

Immunization Clinic: We also take our responsibility as a community leader very seriously here at Career Quest Learning Centers. That’s why we were proud to partner with Grass Lake Pharmacy and turn our Jackson campus into an immunization clinic. The March 4th clinic provided immunizations to our students. Students not covered by health insurance were charged a nominal fee.

Casual-for-a-Cause: We love giving everyone the opportunity to dress down for a day. On our casual-for-a-cause day held at the Lansing campus, students made a small donation for the privilege of coming to school in casual clothes, rather than their program attire. It was a great way for everyone to show off their personal style while supporting their fellow classmates who may need some help through our emergency assistance program.

And we’ve got lots more planned for this month, from celebrating the luck of the Irish with a green Jello sale to a jelly bean guessing contest that could win you an Easter basket of goodies. Lansing is having a pancake sale on the morning of March 19th and later that same day they’ll host local businesses for a Care Giver Career Fair. Last year’s event was a great success, with some students being offered jobs on-the-spot. Other events include an ice cream social, a new student mixer, a crazy scrub day, a certified nursing assistant information session, and the Senior Walk, which bids students good luck as they head to their externships.

Are you looking for a new career? Start with career training! At Career Quest Learning Centers, we’ll provide you with the technical skills you need to learn your new career, and a whole lot more. We really get to know our students and they get to know each other. Check out our programs in business, healthcare and information technology by giving us a call in Lansing at 877-481-4930 or in Jackson at 877-365-8144.

“Half of my staff is made up of Career Quest graduates. Career Quest has played a huge role in the success of my business.”

“I tried community college and it was not for me; I was just overwhelmed. I learn better in small groups. At Career Quest, it was almost like a family. Everyone’s willing to help one another and the teachers are awesome. I’ll be sad to leave!”
