We're hosting a series of free career preparation seminars on the Lansing campus (3215 S. Pennsylvania Ave.) the second week of January. “The seminars are designed to give people the skills they need to be successful in their career search,” said Career Quest Campus Manager Mollie Woodworth. “This is part of our mission to help put people into the careers they want.”

All sessions will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Monday January 9, 2017 – Professional Documents
Attendees will work with a Career Quest career services coordinator in the computer lab to fine-tune their resume or build a completely new one. They’ll also learn how to develop professional contacts and references, and understand the key documents no portfolio should be without.
Tuesday, January 10, 2017 – Dressed for Success
First impressions are everything. Attendees will learn how to create a professional image that boosts their confidence along with their odds of success. They’ll get free style advice, beauty tips and even a make-over from professional cosmetologists.
Wednesday, January 11, 2017 – Online Image
Attendees will receive professional photos and advice on how to build their online profiles. They’ll also get information maintaining a professional presence online.
Thursday, January 12, 2017 – Acing the Interview
Have you ever fumbled questions during an interview or had no idea how to answer an interviewer’s questions? Attendees will learn from a Career Quest career services coordinator how to answer interview questions the right way, then put it into action with a mock one-on-one interview with hiring professionals who can give them feedback on how they did!
