Jackson Hosts Free Career Fair - March 22

Our Jackson campus (209 E. Washington Ave., Suite 241) is hosting a free career fair on Thursday, March 22 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. It includes many local businesses, including: Michigan Medicine, ManPower, Flexible Staffing, Henry Ford Allegiance Health, John George Home, Xcel Staffing, United Methodist Retirement Communities, Bright Star Care, Angel of Mine Home Care, U.S. Staffing Agency, Arcadia Home Care & Staffing and ComForCare.

“We find that employers who require online applications attend because they know a job fair is still the best way of actually meeting potential hires. And most of these employers will explain the ins and outs of their particular online process,” said CQLC Jackson Director of Career Services Elizabeth Kirchmeier. “It’s valuable for job-seekers because in addition to meeting with employers, they can network with like-minded job seekers. As they meet and talk, they learn about employment opportunities they may not have heard about.”

The event is open to the public and pre-registration is not required.

“This program is good because it’s daily, it doesn’t give you time for slack. There is also lots of hands-on help, you’re not just left to do it all on your own. I was in college before and it just didn’t work out. Career Quest worked for me.”

“I was working in a factory for 13 years when I got laid off. I needed to do something totally different and I started at Career Quest. Now I’m teaching here. I love it. “
