Bethany Visser

Medical Assistant Student

Bethany started college straight out of high school, but when she got pregnant she didn’t feel like she was supported enough to continue her education. So she moved home.

She has worked in a factory setting and also in home healthcare, but knew neither one was something she wanted to do for the rest of her life.

She found her lifelong career in medical assisting, with an education from Career Quest. “Being an MA can put you in many places, whether you want to work in a hospital, doctor’s office, NICU,” she says. “It has a lot of advantages.”

Bethany appreciates the support she has received at Career Quest, from both her teachers and her classmates. “They motivate you as you’re motivating them and they’re basically your support system,” she says. “They all want to succeed and you want to succeed so it’s awesome.”

“You can text them, call them, email them whenever you need to."

“They personally know you and I think that’s the difference between a community college and Career Quest.”

SUCCESS STORY

"I thought, why not go back to school and be able to help a family, give them that comfort that I received?"
