Kenn Rainsberger

Microsoft Office Specialist, Lansing Campus
Kenn Rainsberger is a graduate of the Microsoft Office Specialist program. Kenn came to Career Quest after his office job at a nearby foundry was eliminated. The foundry closed due to outsourcing to another country.

“That job was never coming back,” Kenn says. He now uses his education as the Registrar at Career Quest’s Lansing campus.

“Coming back to school was difficult at first, I didn’t really know much about computers. One of my instructors really bent over backwards to help me; he gave me hands-on help and that’s how I learn best. The instructor was very encouraging and that’s what I needed.”

Kenn admits he was at first apprehensive about going back to school. “I thought everyone would be a lot younger than me. There are plenty of young people here – but I’m not the oldest either. Age just isn’t a fact or here. It’s a very supportive environment.”

Kenn is now the Registrar at the Career Quest Lansing campus.

Kenn’s advice to other students: “You get out of it what you put into it. If you’re willing to invest yourself, you can make wonderful changes in your life.”

“Coming here after I was laid off at my job actually gave me an appetite for more education.”
