Megan Steele

Administrative Office Professional, Lansing Campus
Megan Steele started her Career Quest education in data entry, something entirely new to her. She was able to take classes in the morning and then work in the afternoon. She recently completed an externship arranged by Career Quest in the office of a local insurance company. This valuable job experience gave her the confidence she needed to know she can succeed in the workplace.
Megan describes herself as a quiet person who wouldn’t be likely to speak up in class. “But people at Career Quest just reached out and got me involved.” She became active in the Student Council and recently worked with her classmates on a fundraiser for graduation. She wears her perfect attendance pins and is now an officer on the Student Council.
“I really like the classes here,” Megan says. “ It’s easier for me to work with other people who are passionate about what they’re doing.”
Megan's advice for other students: “Just stay focused. It’s hard, but it’s not anything you can’t do if you try.”

“Before Career Quest, I had a job but I just wasn’t going anywhere. I was scared but I decided to give it a shot.  Now I’m the Secretary of the Student Council and ready to graduate!”

“I was working in a factory for 13 years when I got laid off. I needed to do something totally different and I started at Career Quest. Now I’m teaching here. I love it. “

“I’m enrolled at Career Quest so I can be better at the job I have now. I’ve learned how to recognize health symptoms before they turn into a health care crisis. More knowledge means I help my patients lead the best lives possible.”
